As humans, our deep seated thirst for understanding the mysteries of the abyss has always driven us. Be it the explorations of the cosmos, the vast lands on earth, or the deep blue oceans. No matter where our exploration quest takes us, we constantly seek the most important element needed for survival of all life on earth, “Water”.
About 70% of our planet’s surface is covered with water, yet most of us don’t seek out an opportunity to explore and experience the underwater world. We’re in 2023 and there exists equipment, personnel, and means to experience the underwater world safely. You might ask me “Why is it important to do this? What’s the point of all this?”. I say “Why not !”.
If you look at the human evolution, or evolution of other species, we all come from water in some way or another. So shouldn’t we be a little curious to learn and experience this wonderful world that we are living in? Another reason is that there’s so much beauty in the world underwater, and often it’s a humbling experience to see this world for ourselves and realize our place in this world and in this ecosystem.
Just like on land, there’s mesmerizing beauty to be found underwater too. Rock formations, caves, coral gardens, gigantic aquatic animals, colorful plants, fishes, and most of all, the underwater world to me provides a sense of peace and mystery, unlike anything that I’ve ever experienced over land. Many times I’ve frozen in awe by observing something simple even, fascinated at the fact that life is present in all corners of our world no matter the size of the being, and it’s often a sense of gratitude for being able to experience it or witness it in my lifetime.
My first breath underwater has been one of the most magical experiences for me in my life, and I have been fortunate to dive in different parts of the world. By creating this series of videos about scuba diving, I am trying to share this information with others so that it may help them, or perhaps even encourage them to try and experience the wonderful underwater world that we have access to.
